USS Kittiwake, From Submarine Rescue to Submerged
Once a proud vessel chasing submarines in the US Naval fleet, the Kittiwake had many adventures during her years of service. Her divers freed stranded ships and salvaged lost submarines, planes, and even a space shuttle. Now playing a very different roll, she serves as home to fish and other sea life as the first former US military ship to become an artificial reef in another country.
